So in the current job that I am in, I am working in another building away from my actual desk. So almost all of my work possessions are sitting in another building that is across the parking lot. So I don’t really work at my desk that much, nor am I even in that building that much.
Anyway, I came back to my desk after not being there for a few days to find that my stapler was gone. After the initial laugh, because I was reminded of a great movie, Office Space; I actually got pretty bothered like Milton (main character in the show). Not because they took my red Swingline, or I took a hit in quality, it was more so that… who in the hell steals a stapler from a co-worker? Especially when the company would have purchased them a new one if they asked.
Needless to say… I wrote a quick little ditty to express my frustration… should I send it out to the company at large?
I feel like Milton today…
As someone took my stapler away…
I went out to the “Rat’s Nest” for a day or two
And came back to something ‘new’….
Not only had someone taken my big, nice stapler…
But they left me something even greater.
They had left me a ‘brand new’ vintage Boston…
It contained not one staple and even was broken.
The question I now ask myself is… who steals a stapler?
Especially when the company will give you one greater.
Please bring back my Swingline… As I don’t prefer broken Boston.
I don’t want a new one… I’d just like my ‘lost’ one.
Bring it back and I won’t even ask…
I just want my Swingline to be mine at last.
If you don’t bring it back, then I’ll just keep on searching.
And if I don’t find it… I may set fire to the building.
But if I do… And I find it was you…
You don’t want to know the things that I’ll do.
The teasing and tormenting will never end…
And I’ll make sure to embarrass you in front of your friends.
Just bring it back and you won’t even be asked…
Or risk the consequence of my forever embarrassing attacks.
There are some interesting points in time in this article but I don’t know if I see all of them center to heart. There is some validity but I will take hold opinion until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we want more! Added to FeedBurner as well
